FAQ
Are your events chip timed?
Yes, The Ultra Loop is accurately chip timed with comfortable ankle straps by the highly experienced team at Seasons Best Sports Timing. Participants and spectators can see the live results including lap numbers and split times as the event is happening via a live tracking link.
When do entries close?
Entries will close when the places sell out, or two weeks before the event takes place.
What is the event capacity?
Our events are limited to 150-300 participants depending on the location.
What should I bring?
We would advise that all participants have the following:
-
Clothing and kit to suit the weather of the day which may include waterproof layers and a change of clothes. March is often cold and wet, so please consider this when choosing your kit for the event.
-
Your own water bottle. With sustainability in mind, we are operating on a bring your own bottle basis. We will have plenty of water for you to fill up your bottles, but we will not be providing cups at the aid station.
Any participants who plan to run 4+ loops (20K+) should also consider the following in addition:
-
Appropriate fuelling and hydration plans and in turn appropriate products and equipment such as a running vest and tried and tested hydration and fuelling products.
Is there an aid station?
Yes, our aid station will provide water, fruit, snacks and energy bars from our event sponsor VOOM. Snacks will be along the lines of flapjacks, sandwiches, dates, bananas, oranges, sweet and savoury snacks and more.
If you would like to bring your own food and drink and you won't have someone with you to look after it, there will be an area where you can store your fuel but please make sure it is very clearly labelled.
Our aid station and toilets will have female sanitary products for those who may need it.
Is there a bag drop?
Yes, there is a baggage drop that will be managed by a member of staff. You are welcome to access your bag at any time.
Is there onsite parking?
There are pay and display car parks on the event site.
Where do I register on the day?
Event registration will begin onsite at 7.00am, where you will collect your race number and have some time to warm up and get familiar with the event village. The event briefing will then take place at 8.45am before all runners will head to the start line ready to start at 9.00am.
Can I wear headphones?
Headphones are allowed at this event as long as you remain aware of those around you and your surroundings at all times.
Do I get a medal even if I don't run the full 8 hours?
Yes, every runner receives a medal no matter how many laps you run.
Is there a winner?
We acknowledge the leading distance run in the 8 hours as 'course records' but we do not consider there to be winners of this event. This is down the nature of the event and it's flexibility and inclusivity of all abilities of runners. We see The Ultra Loop as an individual challenge for each runner to achieve their own goals, rather than a competition.
Where can I find my results after the event?
The results can be tracked live during the event via the 'Results' page on our website. The final results will then be available to view shortly after the event finishes.
Where will I be told about event updates?
All event updates will be sent via both email and posted in our Facebook group which you can join here. All emails will come from alex@resoluterunning.co.uk. Please make sure that you are regularly checking your junk folder, just in case our emails end up in there. If you aren't currently subscribed to our emails, you can do so here.
Can I get a refund, or defer my entry?
Sorry, due to the nature of the event and how it's organised we aren't able to offer refunds. If you want to defer your entry to a future event, you can do so by contacting us directly. This option is only available up to 2 weeks prior to the event. There is also a deferral option for both men and women in the case that an event is close to a pregnancy due date, please get in touch if this is the case.
If you have any other questions or have any special requests, please get in touch.
We have a Facebook group for all participants that you will have access to where you can ask questions about the event and also meet the community of people taking part. We also have a Strava group we would love for you to join.
